Our friends, the Johnson ladies, invited the girls and I to join them for a tea party that they hosted for the ladies from their church. Mrs. Johnson and her 3 daughters had decorated each table with strawberry bonnets (yummy!!), pink ribbons, and a centerpiece of fresh fruit. The guests brought either a salad or dessert and the Johnsons prepared a delicious sausage/pineapple casserole. It was a most delightful meal.
The girls shared a simple song about Creation that our younger children have been learning recently called "Who Made the Pretty Lilies".
It was a bit strange singing without our wonderful men, but we managed!
Rebecca and Mrs. Johnson share a special moment during the service.
Thanks so much, Johnson ladies, for inviting us to be part of a very special evening. Another thank-you from our men who loved every minute of the cookout in your backyard!!
For many years now, two of Mom's VS friends, Danelda & Marilyn, have had a tradition of visiting us over Memorial Day weekend. Last year they were unable to come due to other "more important things" that Danelda was commited to, (inside joke!) so this year we did our best to make up for all they missed last year. :) We packed the weekend full with a cookout at the campsite, dozens of stories for the little ones, chocolates from the Coblentz Factory, (thanks, Miss Marilyn!) fresh strawberries, cardmaking and scrapbooking, "Beyond the Sun", (an amazing missionary movie) homemade pizza, homemade ice-cream w/ chocolate sauce, trailers from the Sound of Music, lunch at Tuscan Moon for Danelda, Marilyn, and Mom, many random and "anonymous" phone calls from certain suspicious individuals, salad, salad, and more salad (another inside joke).....and much laughter, amongst other things. :)
Love you ladies!! Thanks for the memories! Til next year! :)
