Safe in Daddy's Arms

Marlin loves to hold our newborn babies on his chest while they are sleeping. One evening Rebecca was a bit fussy, so Marlin took her to bed and this is what happened!

"The Lord bless thee, and keep thee: The Lord make His face shine upon thee, and be gracous unto thee: The Lord lift up His countenance upon thee, and give thee peace." Numbers 6:24-26

Baby Update, Etc.

We have been enjoying our new blessing, Rebecca. It is hard to believe she is nearly one week old! Time seems to go to so much faster after the baby is born, while the hours before seem rather long! So far she has spent much of her time sleeping or eating and of course, being loved and held in our arms. Grandma Bontrager and Elizabeth both love babies!
My sister, Sarah, and 2 of her children, Lawrence and Sarah Elizabeth, came from NY to spend the weekend with us. What a joy it was to have them here. Sarah Elizabeth is only 2 days younger than our Elizabeth. The 2 of them spent most of their time playing dolls and dishes together. I think Elizabeth will be rather lonely tomorrow without her little playmate.
"A merry heart doeth good like a medicine: but a broken spirit drieth the bones." Proverbs 17:22

We are enjoying the last beauties that our gardens have to offer.

of the womb is His reward." Psalm 127:3

Our beautiful little blessing arrived on September 9, 2007,at 9:22pm, 21 inches long, and weighing 7lb 12oz.
Both Mommy & baby had a wonderful delivery and are both doing well. THANK-YOU so much to everyone for your prayers! The waiting was so hard but the reward is so sweet! :)

Ecclesiastes 3:1 & 11a

An Evening At Grandma Bontrager's

Since some of Marlin's relatives from OK were here for the weekend, we got together at his mother's house for supper and the evening. Here is a picture of Marlin's mother, Salina, and his uncle, Andy, and his aunt, Lizzie enoying conversation.
This is Marlin's niece, Annika.

Although Arlis is Marlin's cousin, he has "adopted" Elizabeth as his grandaughter.

Elizabeth loves having another grandpa.

More Labor Day Pictures

Since our photographer, Chelsy, took so many great pictures on Labor Day, I am posting some more random shots of that day. We are hopeful that one of the next posts will be news about our 10th arrow. Keep checking! In the meantime, God has been giving me many lessons on patience and trusting in His timing. By His grace, I am learning these lessons well.

6th Annual Turning Hearts Celebration

Larry Chmelar and crew faithfully parked the vehicles of the estimated 400 people who came to our 6th Annual Turning Hearts Celebration held on our farm on Labor Day. This is an event that began with God giving Marlin a desire to encourage fathers to turn their hearts to their children.
"Behold, I will send you Elijah the prophet before the coming of the great and dreadful day of the Lord: And he shall turn the heart of the fathers to the children, and the heart of the children to their fathers, lest I come and smite the earth with a curse." Malachi 4:2
After Norm Wakefield's message at 2:00, there were hayrides for young and old alike.

There was plenty of time for fellowship and playing games together before we shared together in a fellowship meal at 5:00.

The evening program began at 6:45 in the our machine shed. Our children shared the song "Arrows" taken from Psalm 127:4 "As arrows are in the hand of a mighty man; so are children of the youth."

"But grow in the grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ." II Peter 3:17a
Norm Wakefield shared 2 messages, the first one was "Building a Legacy of Revival in America" at 2:00 and the second was "God's Design for Blessing the Family" at 7:15. I was challenged by the need to have an humble heart for revival.
"Let the work of Christ dwell in you richly in all wisdom; teaching and admonishing one another in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing with grace in your hearts to the Lord." Colossians 3:4
The Wissmann Family ended the evening with their beautiful music.
