A Month of Daily Blog Posts!

We are excited to announce a new + upcoming month of daily blogging!

This idea was inspired by two of our faithful blog readers. (one, a dear older gentleman in Georgia, and the other, a young man of about twelve years old, from Pennsylvania)

Both of them told us, last year, that they check our blog every day for updates. As y'all know, our posting is definitely NOT daily, and there have been times, especially last year, when we would often go weeks with a new post! When these friends told us that they read our blog every day, faithfully checking to see if we would update, my mom got the idea to do a month of daily blogging, for fun, specifically for all of the readers who watch our blog on a daily basis.

And here we finally are to give it a try. =)

This month, in honor of those readers (and all the others, too!) we have decided to do a month of daily posting. We will be posting every day of the week (except for Sundays) and posts will include everything from our regular "this is what's happening" style posts, to giveaways, to guest posts by various family members, to our favorite recipes/games, to whatever else we might happen to think might be interesting + a blessing to y'all.

We'd love to hear your thoughts on this new month of blogging. Comment below! =)

"God is faithful, by Whom ye were called into the fellowship of of His Son Jesus Christ our Lord."
-1 Corinthians 1:9

  6. Hi! I'm looking forward to these daily posts! Could you also include some meal ideas/what you guys eat? It can be challenging to feed a family healthy cost efficient meals. It would be a blessing if you could share some ideas! Blessings to everyone. You all are such an encouragement!

  11. I have to agree with the older man and young boy about wanting a blog post everyday! Thank you so much for taking the time to do this for your readers! I would love to hear about meals and menu planning for such a large family and maybe about bargains that you find! That would be interesting for me...although really anything about your sweet family is awesome!! Thank you again!

  14. Fellow Iowan enjoying your blog! I have no idea how I stumbled upon it but I think I was googling dairy farming trying to understand a dairy farmer I was then dating lol. Now we are getting married 2 years later and I still read this! Love the gardening, cooking, homemaking, travel stories, and family atmosphere. I check here for advice on being a wife to a farmer (later in life for us) and just appreciate the like-minded thoughts. My sister checks you out now too; we both love the Kalona area! My fiancé read your blog a few times with me too. I'll continue to check it from his small dairy farm in MN when I move. Thanks!

    1. Hello Emily! That's wonderful! So glad you found our blog + grateful if you can be blessed by it! It is definitely fun, as farmers, to see how other farming people "roll" and do life! =)

  15. What a good idea, Bontrager family! (I read and check daily as well!) I have one suggestion if you don't mind, do you think you could have the younger kids write sometimes? I would love to hear their opinions and see how God works through them as well. Just a suggestion. :)
His blessings be with you all!

Btw, I come out of a large family myself. To be exact, twelve homeschooled children.

  18. Do you think you could add a prayer page where your family could post your prayer requests or others can post theirs? We can have a prayer group online and strengthen each other, being Prayer Warriors for each other. Use the media for good, right?

    1. That is a great thought! Not sure about the logistics of setting it up and how it would work for people to post their requests here through our blog...? But great idea-thanks for sharing. BTW, if anyone out there reading this would like to pursue a website for doing something like this, that would be a wonderful ministry to check into!

    2. The Bible Bee is doing something similar. Might get some ideas from there, although if I understand it right, you pair up with people.
