Family Christmas Eve 2016

Our yearly family Christmas Eve Dinner was just as special + wonderful as always. Due to the actual Christmas Eve being Saturday night, right before our very full day of church + celebrations on Sunday (Christmas Day) we moved our Christmas Eve one night up and had our party on Friday night instead.

This years' celebration was a little different than normal; we had just arrived home the evening before from our little family getaway, and were too busy catching up on farm + home things for everyone to spend the whole day in the kitchen cooking all of the usual appetizers that we typically do. So instead, we had soup, salad, bread, and sparkling cider, and a few appetizers on the side, along with homemade chocolates for dessert.

Time in the Word, by candlelight.
Smiles from the mama + baby =)
Rebecca stole one of the boys' fedoras, and, unbeknownst to her, I got a few classic shots. =)
Not pictured are Christmas carols, around the piano, time in the Word, and several lively rounds of one of our family favorites-a Bible Trivia game in which there are two teams set up against each other to test Bible knowledge. It is such a riot and we had some roaring laughter going on!

"Joy to the World, the Lord is come, let earth receive her King!
Let every heart, prepare Him room,
And heaven and nature sing, and heaven and nature sing
And heaven, and heaven and nature sing!"
