Will You Join Us In Prayer?

"If the foundations be destroyed, what can the righteous do?"
Psalm 11:3

America is a mess, because Christians have been silent too long. So starting this Friday, January 22nd, we are asking all born-again Believers to take every Friday between now and November 2016, to join our family and spend time praying and fasting, begging God to have mercy on this land. Our specific prayer is that He would give us Senator Ted Cruz for our next President. Cruz, a man who is born-again by the Blood of Jesus Christ; Cruz, a man with a proven record as someone who understands and fights for the Constitution; Cruz, someone who has ALWAYS fought for the innocent lives of the unborn; and Cruz, a true American hero who has a backbone and will FIGHT for the American people!

Everything rises and falls on leadership; thus, it is imperative that we have a God-honoring man as President. But we MUST pray! We cannot afford not to.

Ezekial 22:30 says, "And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none."

Will that be what God says of our generation? Or will we apply 2 Chronicles 7:14 to our own lives? There is NOTHING that moves the hand of God like prayer and fasting. This is why we again ask all Christians to at least spend some time in prayer EVERY Friday between now and November 2016. If you are able to fast, that would be great as well. Maybe you could fast for a day, or for even just a meal. Maybe because of your health or other reasons, you aren't able to fast, but would be willing to fast for a day from media, sugar, soda, etc.

Whatever it is, will you find something that you could give up on Fridays, to show God that you are serious about seeing America turned around?

"When we work, we work. When we pray, God works."

"If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways;
then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land."
(2 Chronicles 7:14)

  2. Amen, Mitchell.

I think this verse also applies to what you just wrote.

Proverbs 29:2 When the righteous are in authority, the people rejoice: but when the wicked beareth rule, the people mourn.

Our nation has been mourning, in a spiritual sense, for too long.

I join you in praying. As a man I respect says, "Those who don't start each day on their knees in prayer to Almighty God aren't fit to lead."

  6. Ted Cruz is a wolf in sheep's clothing. He has no chance of becoming president. I suggest your support Bernie Sanders. He truly cares for this country and its people. Do some research.

  7. In Response To Anonymous Supporting Bernie Sanders:

I can speak to this with some authority. I am a volunteer leader for the Cruz campaign in Iowa. I do happen to personally know the Bontrager family and count them as my friends. They wouldn't support someone before doing all the homework and also spending hours in prayer about the decision. Personally, I've spent hours and hours with Ted Cruz on the campaign trail in Iowa.

Bernie Sanders is a godless man who thinks the government should take care of people. I know Ted Cruz thinks that the citizens of the United States can and should govern themselves. In doing so, the government is made less powerful and the people, with God's providence, can flourish. Liberty and freedom aren't just words to Ted Cruz. Ted's father, Pastor Rafael Cruz knows the dangers of collectivism. He saw what Castro did in Cuba. After all, the only difference between socialism and communism is the barrel of a gun.

At his root, Bernie Sanders is a Marxist collectivist. Here is quote from a piece, written by Michael Kruse, of the Politico. "Sanders, 73, has been preaching socialism for nearly half a century, and he cites Eugene Debs, the five-time presidential candidate of the Socialist Party of America, as his hero." Rather than lecture a family that just wants to be left alone to work and worship in a way that glorifies God, I suggest you do your research and divorce yourself from any idea that government should "level the playing field." All government needs to do is protect life, liberty and the pursuit of happiness. Outside of that, they need to get out of the American people's way.

I will pray for you. I will also ask the Bontrager family to pray for you too. Please, think twice before voting for a godless communist.

    1. Socialism isn't communism. And just because a person is a Christian doesn't mean you should vote for them. I have no problem with a Christian for president as long as he isn't trying to force me to believe what he believes. There is religious freedom in this country and the separation of church and state for a reason.

  11. I beg you to reconsider the idea of voting for someone because of his or her religion. Or what someone says is his religion. You never know another person's heart. You assume that the USA must be run by a Christian. Your attitude is similar to other religious zealots in the middle east. Can you not see that mixing religion and politics is an invitation to ruin? Even Jesus preached separation of the two. Just asking you and your readers to think how you would feel if a Muslim zealot was President and wanted all US laws consistent with the Koran.

  12. Thank so much, Mitchell, for this challenge to fasting + prayer! Reminds me of your family's Will America Pray song, too. :)

  13. No Name:
No one here ever said that socialism is communism.
And we agree that no president should ever be able to force his beliefs on anyone else. We never said that he should.

  14. Anonymous,
We do not assume that the president has to be a Christian. We have had multiple elections in past in which we personally voted for a non-christian candidate.
What we are saying is that the Lord has given us the phenomenal privilege this election to have a strong Christian man as one of our candidates. No, it is not necessary that the president is a Christian. But if there is a Christian option who also happens to be a man with a strong track record of conservatism, standing up for religious liberty and freedom, and defending the rights of the unborn, than absolutely we will be standing behind that candidate. Note that I said RELIGIOUS LIBERTY. That is the freedom for each to choose their religious stance. We believe in that-it is each individual's choice what they believe, and not something that should be forced upon them.
